Ingredients

  • 8 g hemp sticks
  • 175 ml milk
  • 200 g sugar
  • 225 g plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 225 g butter
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • any other ingredients you can use to enhance the dessert, such as cocoa, vanilla extract, dried fruit, lemon glaze, buttercream, chocolate chips, etc.

Procedure

  1. Preheat the oven to 104 °C to 113 °C. Spread the crushed sticks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave them in the oven for 30-40 minutes. This will decarboxylate the cannabis, making all the cannabinoids bio-absorbable.
  2. After decarboxylation, remove the tray from the oven and increase the temperature to 190°C.
  3. Put the butter in a bowl and place it in the microwave for 20 seconds.
  4. Add the crushed drumsticks to the butter and mix thoroughly.
  5. Put the flour, sugar, milk, baking powder and a pinch of salt in a larger bowl. Pour in the prepared hemp butter, add the egg and mix the ingredients until a smooth, lump-free consistency is formed.
  6. Grease the tin with butter or line with baking paper.
  7. Pour the batter into the tin and spread it evenly.
  8. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes after removing from the oven.
  10. Once cooled , you can decorate it as you wish. Dust it with icing sugar or drizzle with icing.

Tips and tricks to bake the perfect space cake

  • Do not overbake the space cake. If you leave it in the oven too long, it will be too dry and the final consistency will be tough.
  • Use your imagination when making a space cake and try adding blueberries, chocolate chips, dried fruit, lemon juice, poppy seeds, shredded coconut, nuts or anything else you can think of.
  • Instead of a space cookie , bake space muffins. Just pour the batter into the muffin tin and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes.
  • You can substitute purchased hemp oil or hemp butter for the decarboxylated sticks.
  • As with all other hemp edibles, start with a smaller portion at first and slowly increase.
