CREAMING AND SOWING OF HEMP SEEDS
The basis is cleanliness, humidity and sufficient heat
To maximize the likelihood of germination, ensure that the seeds germinate are as sterile as possible. If you are sowing directly into the substrate, be sure to prefer pre-steamed, which contains a minimum of bacteria. Do not touch the seeds with dirty hands while germinating.
Neighborhood should have a high germination humidity of 70-85% and the temperature should range between 22 to 26 ° C. Cotton wool , soft toilet paper or a make-up removal swab will serve as a good basis for sprouting .
First of all, it is good that the place goes through the boiling point even with moistened cotton wool. Just pouring water from a kettle destroys the vast majority of bacteria. The seed will thus be in a relatively sterile environment. After soaking the absorbent material, squeeze it, the seeds must not float in the water. Air must reach the seeds, lack of air will interrupt germination. Do not use tap water, let it stand for 36 hours first.
Before direct sowing, it is good to soak the seeds for 24 hours in a boiled, standing room temperature bath. Create a hotbed around the germination site. Put cotton wool and seeds in a container and close it with a transparent food foil or a bag with holes for air access. You can ideally use a hotbed, it costs several tens of crowns to a hundred.
Check germination regularly, but always wash your hands, it is safer. After 1-4 days, the seeds should sprout from the seeds. (If a seed doesn't germinate in a week, you can probably say goodbye to it). Once the sprouts reach a size of about 10 mm, it is time to transplant.
How to sow germinated seeds?
Once you have sprouts with about 5-10 mm long roots, gently remove them. We plant it very carefully so as not to break the root. The maximum depth for planting the seed is about 4 cm , so we recommend 2 cm and plant with the root down .
When choosing a substrate, it is necessary to think for a moment. The plants like neutral to slightly acidic soil, so the pH should be something between 5.5 and 6 . To determine the pH of the soil, you can use a special measuring paper, it can be bought at the pharmacy. It is also possible to use a coconut substrate for sowing. This is a good choice because the plant does not need much nutrients. Beware of substrates too rich in humus.
The substrate with the germ must not dry out , which is often a fundamental problem in cultivation. One easily gets used to the fact that it does not have to maintain moisture during germination because it maintains itself due to the hotbed. But once the sprout dries in the soil, you can say goodbye to it. The small plant is also very susceptible to bacteria and fungi, which thrive when there is an excess of water. Also be careful not to get wet. The substrate should still be wet, but water must not splash on the surface when pressed.
An equally important factor is air. In a room where a young sprout grows, it is good to ventilate regularly and the temperature should not fall below 21 ° C.
When watering the plant, it is always necessary to let the tap water stand or use rainwater . The ideal pH of the water should be 5.7.
