Brahmi(Bacopa monnieri)

Bacopa monniera, also called water hyssop and Herpestis monniera, is native to the wetlands of southern India but grows commonly in the United States, Europe, and Africa. It is a creeping perennial plant with small leaves and purple flowers that is found in warm wetlands. It is a very common amphibian plant of the gentle tropics, where it inhabits the banks of slow-moving rivers and does well in soft to hard, even brackish water.

Brahmi is used to refer to two different Ayurvedic herbs - Bacopa monnieri and Centella asiatica. Brahmi is a Sanskrit word that literally means the feminine essence of universal awareness, as well as the promoter of subtle mindfulness. Both are also highly revered for their strengthening properties for the nervous system.
