One of the most famous varieties ever, Northern Light is a pure indica that is popular for its resin-studded buds, fast flowering and hardiness during growth. It is a descendant of Afghani and Thai Landrace. The Northern Light variety has also been bred into Shiva Skunk and Super Silver Haze.

Northern Light is said to have been originally bred in Seattle, Washington, but was not made famous until after 1985 in Holland by a producer now called Sensi Seeds.
