CBD and Burns: Faster Skin Healing with CBD
Each of us has at least once in our life come into contact with a situation where we were at risk of burning. This could have happened while cooking, baking, or during another activity involving flammable materials. Burns are caused by excessive heat exposure, which can take various forms: liquid burns, burning, explosion, or sun radiation. Just a moment of inattention and our skin can bear permanent consequences. Besides these classic dangerous traps, there is also a specific type of burn, which is sunburn. We will focus on this today, given that it is summer and the topic is very current. Sunburn is different in that it is sometimes difficult to prevent. When we get burned in the sun, it is not always our fault. Sometimes the sun can radiate stronger UVA and UVB rays, and the combination of direct contact with our body causes skin burning.
SUNBURN RISK
Burns are scientifically labeled as combustio (lat.). Burns are among the most common injuries, so it is important to master the principles of first aid. The greatest risk in any burn is tissue damage. If we consider sunburn, when we are exposed to the sun for a long time and without protection, the body tells us through nerve tissues via pain that something is not in balance. Later, an inflammatory reaction occurs, where small blood vessels pass fluids from vessels to a much greater extent, causing swelling and subsequently blisters. Even if it seems that sunburn only damages the skin from the outside, this is not the case. Another danger is vessel supply disruption, which worsens blood circulation, resulting in ischemia of the injured tissue. Even with sun burning, burns are divided into different degrees - from 1st to 4th - depending on severity. A major risk is also heat stroke or organism overheating, which does not occur with other burns. Perhaps the greatest risk of sun burning is still considered to be the risk of skin cancer. This is also related to pigment and moles located on our body. Among regularly occurring sunburn symptoms are:
- skin darkening
- burning and stinging
- body blisters
- loss of sensitivity
- skin peeling
- in severe cases: swelling, headaches, vomiting, dizziness, fever
