The Most Common Cannabis Pests 1/2

Some pests dangerous to the plant survive in the soil, while other parasite species can also be transmitted through the air. Diseases that the plant contracts from such an infestation are caused by either "biotic" living organisms or from so-called "abiotic sources" (non-living organisms). While abiotic organisms arise mainly from nutritional deficiencies or irrigation system pollution, biotic (free-living) organisms can appear completely unexpectedly. Plant diseases can also vary depending on the climate.

In this section on the most common pests we will cover: aphids ι spider mites ι white flies ι thrips ι lice ι slugs ι tobacco virus

If someone tells you that cannabis cannot be affected by any disease (it's just a weed), believe that this is not the case in practice. More than 100 diseases worldwide affect cannabis plants, fortunately only 12 of them are truly serious for the plant. Some serious diseases include gray mold, various hemp ulcers, leaf spots, root rot, tuber diseases, and other genetic diseases. Long-term stressed plants can of course be more susceptible to such problems, so the best prevention against plant pests is always to give flowers some peace.

The plant experiences great stress if:

  1. It lacks water
  2. It suffers from lack of light
  3. You do not ensure stable temperature and good ventilation

Mold and fungi are of course also classified as pests causing major problems for plants, but we will discuss them in detail in subsequent chapters.
