Blueberry - fruity marijuana
The history of this cannabis genetics takes us back to 1970, to the West Coast of the United States, when a grower with the nickname DJ Short was intensively working on crossing exotic cannabis varieties from various global destinations such as Colombia, Panama, Mexico, or Thailand.
At that time, DJ Short had over 100 different plant varieties in his garden, both indoors and outdoors. Needless to say, this person tasted a really large number of different cannabis lineages before finding exactly what he was looking for.
According to his own words, only one plant out of a hundred carried the desired traits of quality genetics. Furthermore, the selection of these chosen plants was complicated for him, as they were hemp hybrids naturally more prone to hermaphroditism (creating male hybrids). However, his efforts ultimately bore fruit, and DJ Short bred one of the most recognized varieties known and loved worldwide.
Breeding Beginnings
His extensive research led him to discover two very special hemp varieties. In his own opinion, the first result was extremely impressive when he managed to breed the variety "Juicy Fruit Thai", which stood out with a very sweet tropical punch and a long-lasting intense effect. DJ Short's second success was a model called "Purple Thai". This genetics was crossed with the excellent "Highland Oaxaca Gold" and a strangely looking variety called "Chocolate Thai". The resulting hybrid was colored very dark when harvested and also radiated a deep purple shade with the slightest contact with a cold environment. The resulting taste was as juicy as fruit and truly very rich. "Purple Thai" became DJ Short's personal favorite. It was more flavor-refined than the previous "Juicy Fruit Thai", which also excelled in strong effects but caused paranoid states in large doses. These two old-school varieties form the pedigree of all subsequent DJ Short models.
