Silver fir essential oil is steam-distilled from the flat needle-like leaves and twigs of Abies alba conifers from the mountains of Europe.
The name Abies is Latin for increasing in height due to its height, and the name Alba is Latin for light or white, recalling the white color of its wood. Native tribes of North America have long used the tree's aromatic needles to treat lung and chest problems. Uses of silver fir oil
